Introduction
Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the Developer Exchange Program (“DevEx”) provided by Roblox Corporation and its affiliates (“we,” “us,” “our”). These Developer Exchange Terms of Use (“DevEx Terms”) apply to your participation in DevEx in addition to the Roblox Terms, including, the Creator Terms and User Terms.
Accepting these terms
By participating in DevEx and accepting these DevEx Terms, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are using the Roblox on behalf of an entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to the DevEx Terms and by accepting the DevEx Terms, you are doing so on behalf of that entity. You also confirm and agree that: (a) you are at least 18 years of age; and/or (b) if you are a minor not old enough to have authority to consent to these DevEx Terms in your country, your parent or legal guardian must accept these DevEx Terms on your behalf and you to use DevEx. See Section 2.1 of the User Terms for more details.
Eligibility requirements
To participate in DevEx, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- have an active Account in good standing with no significant history of Community Standards violations including but not limited to scamming, phishing, false advertising, or egregious intellectual property violations;
- be an Earning Party who is at least 13 years old;
- have contributed Content to the Platform;
- have at least 30,000 Earned Robux in your Account;
- have a Roblox-verified email address associated with your Account; and
- be in compliance with these DevEx Terms (including the Community Standards) at all times.
DevEx Request
Earning Parties may request to receive fiat currency based on their Earned Robux (“DevEx Request”). If you satisfy all the DevEx eligibility requirements in Section 3 above, Roblox may, in its sole discretion, decide to provide you payment for your DevEx Request.
4.1 Roblox review
When you initiate a DevEx Request on Creator Hub, Roblox will review activity associated with your Account to confirm that you accumulated Earned Robux in compliance with these DevEx Terms, and will decide whether you are eligible to receive a payment for your DevEx Request. As part of the review process, you may be required to provide Roblox with evidence that you meet the eligibility requirements listed in Section 3.
4.1.1 Public Game requirement
Roblox will decline DevEx Requests that are associated with private Games. You are required to keep your Games set to public (as opposed to private) throughout the DevEx lifecycle. For the distinction between public and private Games, see the Games and places documentations.
4.1.2 Monthly limit
You are not allowed to initiate a DevEx Request more than once per calendar month.
4.2 DevEx account
If your request is approved and this is your first DevEx Request, you will receive an email inviting you to create a DevEx account on Roblox’s DevEx portal. To create a DevEx account, you may be required to provide certain information to Roblox and Roblox's third party service provider including but not limited to name, email address, address, date of birth, bank account information, and the tax information in Section 5 below. Roblox reserves the right to take steps to verify the information you provide for your DevEx account and DevEx Request.
4.3 DevEx Request amount
Roblox provides a base exchange rate for DevEx Request for standard Earned Robux as determined in Roblox's sole discretion. From time to time, Roblox may pay different rates on DevEx Request based on certain Earned Robux that Roblox designates, in its sole discretion. See Developer Exchange – Help and Information Page for more information about the DevEx Request process, rates, and methods for calculating payment amounts for DevEx Requests. Roblox’s third party service provider may charge transaction fees as detailed in the DevEx portal in association with payments for DevEx Requests.
4.4 Geographic limitations
Roblox may not be able to approve DevEx Requests to Earning Parties in certain countries due to legal and regulatory reasons. Please check here to see if your country is eligible for DevEx.
Tax
Payments received in association with DevEx Request are Creator Payments as defined in Section 6 of the Creator Terms. They are paid as consideration for Roblox's exercise of the copyright rights licensed to Roblox under Section 3.2 of the User Terms, as modified by Section 4.2 of the Creator Terms, and are not consideration for any services, referral, or marketing activities performed by you. Please refer to Section 6.2 of the Creator Terms for the tax terms that apply to your payments for DevEx Requests.
Your responsibilities
As an Earning Party, you agree to provide Roblox with true, accurate, and up to date information in connection with your DevEx account and DevEx Request. Roblox may, in its sole discretion, require Earning Parties who have amounts in excess of 5.7 billion Earned Robux to submit DevEx Requests.
Changes to DevEx
Roblox reserves the right to change DevEx by updating these DevEx Terms as described in Section 14.8 of the User Terms.
We reserve the right to review activity on Accounts to assess the validity of Earned Robux balances, and to deny payments for DevEx Requests to any User who does not comply with these DevEx Terms or the Roblox Terms.
Changes to DevEx
Our User Terms and Creator Terms are incorporated by this reference into, and made a part of, these DevEx Terms. In particular and without limitation, Sections 12 to 14 also apply to the DevEx Terms. If there are any conflicts, these DevEx Terms control with respect to your participation in DevEx, except that Section 4.2 and Section 6 of the Creator Terms govern the characterization of, and tax treatment applicable to, all Creator Payments.
